Next Steps
If you’ve got this far, you have a reasonable sense of what this game is. Here’s what happens next.
How play works
Play is conversational and decision-driven. You describe what your character attempts, respond to what’s happening around you, and work with other characters to deal with situations as they develop.
Outcomes are not guaranteed. Decisions carry consequences and situations don’t reset. You’re expected to stay engaged, pay attention, and take your share of what’s happening at the table.
You don’t need to purchase anything to participate — all materials needed to play will be provided.
The game involves conflict, risk, and decisions with real consequences. It isn’t intended to be graphic or extreme, but it engages seriously with themes — violence, obligation, social hierarchy, moral ambiguity — that some audiences may find uncomfortable. I don’t tightly control tone beyond keeping sessions running productively. If you’re uncertain whether the content is right for you, the vignettes elsewhere on the site give a reasonable sense of the world.
Make sure the setting fits
Under Oath takes place in Caldris — a grounded setting shaped by obligation, consequence, and limited means. You don’t need to know the details in advance, but you should be comfortable with the tone and assumptions of the world. If you haven’t already, review the setting overview before going further.
Signal your interest
If you’re still interested, send me a message. If you have experience with other systems, mention it — it’s useful context.
Please only do this if you’re genuinely prepared for a game where outcomes are uncertain and decisions have lasting consequences.
I’ll get back to you to discuss fit and next steps. I run these games alongside other commitments, so available places are limited, but I review requests promptly.
Everyone is welcome to apply. I don’t exclude people on the basis of race, gender, or any other personal characteristic — the only question is fit for this particular style of play.
